About V-Line Surgery
At Nuveau Plastic Surgery, we offer a chin and jaw reduction surgery for Asian patients called the V-line facial contouring surgery. In the Asian culture, many men and women are concerned about the shape and size of their chin and lower jaw. Many people prefer an oval-shaped face over the square-shaped face. Many Asians are calling our office to request a plastic surgery consultation with our experienced plastic surgeon, like Dr. Edward Lee, who has specifically trained in Asian plastic surgery techniques.
The V-line facial contouring surgery is a chin and jaw reduction surgery that has seen an increase in popularity in the Asian countries, as well as the United States. This surgery can dramatically change the shape of your face (from square to oval). If you are interested in this procedure, please call our office in Houston, TX for a consultation appointment to get started.
The best candidates for V-line facial contouring surgery are of Asian heritage, and have a square-shaped face. Candidates will need to be healthy enough for surgery lasting 3 – 5 hours under a general anesthesia. During your consultation, we will discuss your medical history, what your facial features would look like with the V-line reshaping, and set realistic aesthetic goals while making your plastic surgery treatment plan.

"10 days post “mommy makeover” and have to write a review because of how smooth the process was and how wonderful Dr. Lee is. Great bedside manner and superb skill level. You can tell he takes pride in his work and strives to get his patients the best possible outcome. Recovery process has been smooth thankfully. I was back to work 1 week post surgery. Also, Dr. Lee really listens to your concerns and works with you as a team. He even called me over Christmas to review a post op concern I had emailed him about. Eva in the office is also wonderful. Highest recommendations!"- D. / Google / Dec 28, 2019

"Did an amazing job! I went in for fillers while I friend went to get a mole removal. Not going to lie I did have a lot of swelling which freaked me out but after about a week there was no more swelling and after the first few weeks everything just balanced so beautifully. You can't tell that I've had anything done and my face looks a lot more symmetrical than it did before. My face looks more youthful and I love it! My friends mole removal went great for him. He says he can't even notice a scar! Ill definitely be a repeat customer!"- B.L. / Yelp / Jun 08, 2019
Plan Your Procedure
- Procedure Recovery Location
The V-line facial contouring surgery is typically performed in an in-patient setting under general anesthesia. This surgery may require 3 – 5 hours for completion. The amount of time to perform this surgery will be dependent on whether you have surgery on the chin, the jaw or both. There will be no external incisions. All of the incisions are made within the mouth for either (chin or jaw) procedure. The chin is reshaped into a T-shape, which will make it a narrow and sharpened contour. The jaw, or the lower portion of the mandible, is cut into or shaved down to the desired aesthetic look.
What to Expect
Once the surgery is complete, we will insert a drain to keep fluids from building up on the treatment area. This will be removed before your discharge. We will also provide you with a chin-strap to keep your jaw in alignment. Most plastic surgeries are performed in an out-patient setting, however, with V-line facial contouring, our patients are generally kept overnight. We will monitor your vital signs, pain, drainage, and how well you recover from surgery.
You can expect to be swollen for at least 1 – 2 weeks post-surgery. We recommend that you stay on a liquid and/or soft diet during this time. It is very important to make all your post-operation follow-up appointments with our team.
